Course Overview

With effect from 1 January 2023, food handlers from both retail and non-retail food businesses would be required to pass WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 (previously known as Follow Food and Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures/ Basic Food Hygiene Course) as per SFA requirements.

The WSQ (Workforce Skills Qualifications) Food Safety Course Level 1 training is designed to provide fundamental knowledge and skills in food safety for individuals working in the food and beverage industry.

自 2023 年 1 月 1 日起, 根据 SFA 的要求,零售和非零售食品企业的食品处理人员将被要求通过 WSQ 食品安全课程 1 级(以前称为遵循食品和饮料安全与卫生政策和程序/基本食品卫生课程)。

WSQ(劳动力技能资格)食品安全课程 1 级培训旨在为食品和饮料行业工作人员提供食品安全方面的基础知识和技能。

Who Should Attend

Food handlers who handle and prepares food and beverages in retail and non-retail food establishments licensed by SFA Minimum Entry Requirement Participants should have the ability to speak, read and write in simple Chinese 在 SFA 许可的零售和非零售食品场所处理和准备食品和饮料的食品处理人员 最低入学要求 参赛者应具备简单的汉语说、读、写能力

Course Content

  • Importance of good personal hygiene practices
  • Proper hand washing procedures
  • Use safe ingredients
  • Handle food safely
  • Proper defrosting methods for frozen food
  • Store food safely
  • Proper storage temperature and temperature danger zone
  • Proper stock rotation – First expire first out (FEFO)
  • Maintain cleanliness of equipment and premises
  • Legislation and case studies, workplace safety

Assessment (1.5 hours)

  • Written assessment – Multiple-choice questions and short answer questions
  • Practical performance

Dress code

  • Wear covered shoes, long pants
  • Clean and trimmed fingernails
  • Tie up long hair

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this training, learners from WSQ Food Safety Course Level 1 will be able to:

  • Understand good personal hygiene practices to minimize the risk of food contamination
  • Demonstrate good personal hygiene practices when handling and preparing food
  • Identify potential food safety hazards associated with specific ingredients
  • Apply techniques to store food at correct conditions and maintain cleanliness of equipment and premises

在本次培训结束时,WSQ 食品安全课程 1 级的学习者将能够:

  • 了解良好的个人卫生习惯,以尽量减少食品污染的风险
  • 处理和准备食物时表现出良好的个人卫生习惯

Assessment & Certification

Statement of Attainment will be awarded for participants who are competent

Note: Learners will not receive training grants from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG) in the event they fail the assessment and have to re-take the same course again.

注意:如果学员未通过评估必须重新参加同一课程,且他们将不会获得SSG的培训补助金。
